These courses are shorter in length, but provide an exciting introduction to the full continuum of Outward Bound programming. Surrounded by like-minded peers and supportive instructors, students build bonds with one another, begin to test their own independence and return home with new insights and skills to share. Our Classic Middle School expeditions are designed to create a connection with nature and a newfound confidence in students aged 12-14. As students learn these skills in challenging situations, they also learn the value of teamwork, compassion for others and the pursuit of excellence. These expeditions are based in the outdoors and teach students technical skills like navigation, camp craft, the basics of backpacking or rock climbing and much more. Middle School Breathtaking wilderness settings coupled with challenge, adventure, and an amazing new group of friends, students can't help but gain new confidence.Ĭlassic-style courses are the original Outward Bound program.
